CM Maryam Nawaz’s Son Junaid Safdar Fined For Tinted Car Windows

On July 7, 2025, Junaid Safdar, the son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, was stopped by traffic police in Johar Town, Lahore, during a routine check. The police, including members of the Dolphin Force, noticed that one of the vehicles in his convoy had black-tinted windows—an open violation of Punjab’s traffic laws. Without any hesitation or exception, the officers issued a challan of Rs. 500 for the violation. Junaid Safdar, instead of objecting or using his influence, introduced himself respectfully, accepted the traffic ticket, and paid the fine on the spot.

The incident was widely appreciated by the public and the media as a rare example of equal law enforcement. Junaid Safdar himself praised the officers for their professionalism and integrity, saying that the way they handled the situation reflected their commitment to duty. His mother, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, also publicly applauded the police team—especially the officer Shahzaib and his squad—for upholding the rule of law without fear or favor. She emphasized that this kind of impartiality is exactly what her government stands for and that such actions define the new face of governance in Punjab.

The entire event sent a strong message: no one is above the law, and the enforcement of rules applies to everyone equally, regardless of their position or influence.
